It's been a while....

I haven't posted in a really long time, and I apologize. I've had my baby. A healthy little girl named Allison. We all love her. Jackson gives her sweet little kisses whenever he can. She is now almost 2 months old and smiling like no other! Jackson is learning new words everyday and amazes me in every way.

Today was supposed to be my day off.....

Today is supposed to be my day off. I get called in to work because my coworker showed up all doped up on pills. Wonderful! So instead of spending time with the loves of my life today I'm at work. Dealing with the following:

A guest walks in the door "What's up woman!". Blank look on my face. "You don't remember me do you? I stayed here last month." Obviously not, and I hate being called "woman".
Also I hate when really old men with long beards, southern accents so deep I can't understand half of the conversation, and smokers breath tell me that they are going to the mall of America to eat and will bring me back a big bottle of tequila to see what will happen. (Insert awkward laugh) Nothing will happen because I won't drink it....idiot. Your wearing a wedding ring, act like it. And for the last time NO I'M NOT HUNGRY! I made the mistake of telling him what I had for lunch (pizza) and he preceded to tell me that it was going to make my ass fat. Really?! First of all WHY DO YOU CARE? Second, I'm pretty sure I've been eating pizza my entire life and I don't have a "fat ass". I've carried a child for 9 months and another for 11 weeks and I don't have this "fat ass" so shut your mouth! Maybe I should tell him all those cigarettes he is going outside to smoke are going to KILL HIM, or that he already smells of death. That kind of Trumps a fat ass, don't you think? Death or a fat ass....hmmmm I'll take a fat ass please!
P.S. I haven't been blogging in a while because this pregnancy has left me extremely tired and nauseous. I had an ultrasound yesterday and we went to Stillwater for the day. I will post about it later!

Yesterday

Yesterday I had my first prenatal appointment. They just did a bunch of tests and told me that my due date is October 30, 2011. (I already knew this) I made an appointment with my regular obgyn for a followup and an ultrasound for April 11.

While I was at my appointment my parents were watching Jackson. It was my mom's birthday, and my brother and I planned the whole day out. We got her flowers and took her to the Olive Garden. Trevor got off work just in time and joined us. After the Olive Garden we had another surprise! We took her to the History Museum in St. Paul. They had to George Washington exhibit going on. Mom had fun looking at everything because she has been to most of the places. (Washington D.C. & Mount Vernon) We spent the rest of the afternoon there, up until the place closed. Jackson had a blast looking at all the stuff and people too. He took a ride in one of the bus exhibits and a wagon in one of the rooms. Grandpa even taught him how to drink out of a water fountain!

Today I am very tired. I feel like I could go to sleep for the rest of the day. I cannot wait until I am in my 2nd trimester!! :D I made Jackson and I lunch, and now I'm going to finish washing diapers and getting ready for work!

Here are some pictures from yesterday:

Jackson got it!! :D

Daddy and Jackson! We had so much fun yesterday! It was a great family fun day.

How we wash our cloth diapers 'round these parts....

They start out here:
When He gets wet or poos we take it off and throw it in a bucket we keep in the bathroom.(If there is poo we spray it off into the toliet and flush) They sit there for about a day and a half. When the bucket is full, we fill up the bathtub. Once cold, swish swish, wash wash, and wrung out. Then we drain the bathtub, add hot water and our special soap. Let soak for 15 minutes, wash and swish. Wring out the diapers and drain the tub. Then comes the last cold rinse to get all the soap out! Then we wring and hang up to dry!
Here are some pics:

(prefolds soaking)

(Scrubbing and wringing)

(Draining bathtub for final rinse)

(Water proof covers drying!)

(prefolds drying in the bathroom)

We sanitize the bathtub every time we wash diapers and before each bath.
Thanks for reading!!
Jackson wants to wave goodbye! :

(super comfy in his soft cloth diaper!)

Diaper washing can also be done easier in the washer. Hand washing just takes a little more time. It is easy peasy! Anyone can do it! Plus they are super cute and good for our environment! :D
Change 3 Things: 3 cloth diapers. One planet. Big impact.

Good Morning!

It's daylight savings so we lost an hour, but we all slept in! Trevor's making us eggs and bacon, I'm washing diapers and Jackson is playing with his toys in the living room. I have to go to work later, but I love weekend mornings before work. Trevor is always here, and the mornings are somewhat lazy.

Time for a late breakfast! :)

Being a mommy was what I was always meant to be.

My mom got me this book when I started kindergarten. It had 12 pages with pockets for each year of school. She would put my school picture on the page and I would write things about me that year. Inside would be my report cards and special keepsakes from the year. One of the questions that stayed the same through all the years was: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" My answer was always different. Vet, Artist, manager, and grocery store clerk are some of the ones I remember. All throughout high school and after I couldn't decide what I wanted to be. I went from flight attendant to graphic design to vet tech. I'm thinking that God always knew that I would be a mommy, even though I didn't think I ever would be.
Being a mommy is the most rewarding and amazing experience I think there is. I wouldn't trade it for the world!
